[STORY] As a admin/tester/developer I want the service version to indicate I'm using a development build, to avoid miscommunication when doing testing, fixing or error reporting
During build, modify the version string on the main branch to indicate Docker Images are based on development builds. Maybe even local, non-docker build should have an adapted version string.
There are repeated occasions where an issue is reported, but people are not able to differentiate if it's an official release like alpha1
or if it's the latest build from main
(Currently tagged unstable
in DockerHub).
Discuss how we represent main
builds. For example:
%last-version%-main-%build-hash%
%next-version%-dev-%build-hash%
The latter would require us to bump the version after every release already, when switching back to development.
