Use a proper Git repository to manage and track enhancement proposals
Managing and tracking the development of the AURA Enhancement Proposal with Gitlab's Wiki is sub-optimal.
The history is not easily visible and we currently don't track the status of the proposal. This way it looks like and serves as a wish list.
The Django project manages their Django Enhancement Proposals in a separate repository: https://github.com/django/deps
The proposals are grouped by status draft
, accepted
, rejected
, withdrawn
, final
and superseded
and the text documents have metadata like the creation and last modified date, the author (of the proposal), the implementation team, and the shepherd, the core developer who will be the primary reviewer.
Maybe, we can consider adopting something similar but simplified to manage and track our AEPSs?
