Requirements on Playout Behaviour
To be clarified:
[1] Playlist modification during playout & fallback handling
- a. Should it be possible that playlists are changed during the actual playout? (e.g. upload is happening too late)
- b. If yes, how does this affect the actual playout?
- c. Does this logic observe playlist items or the complete playlist only?
- d. How about past tracks of a playlist currently playing?
[2] Playlist modification after the playout has happended
- a. Since there is a recording, should this be posssible at all?
- b. If it's possible, how does this affect repeating schedules, in contrast to recordings?
[3] Review of the Dashboard approach on scheduling live shows
Let's say there is a schedule for a live show twice a week. Before the broadcast any RM needs to 1.) create a playlist and 2.) create a an "live" playlist entry and save it 3.) assign the playlist to the schedule. Now, when this show is broadcasted this playlist is not usable anymore. For every new broadcast these steps have to be repeated. Suggestion: Why is there the need to represent live show in form of playlists? Wouldn't it be easier to select the "Live Studio" directly at the Show-Schedules dialog? This would also keep the list of past playlists more tidy.
